I’m a big fan of the 707's antenna/spike thing at the top of the tail. More planes need those...

Also, on the topic of German 707s, I found this interesting:

The antenna spike was so futuristic. Perfect for the era. Keep Oppo Astrojet.

That looks interesting. I’ll have to read it later. Thanks.

Boeing did it better, I must say. Needs more iron cross.

It’s a good looking plane, though there was a problem with those easy 707s (or rather their engines):

707's are still flying regularly?

No. This is an old picture. The last commercial 707 flight was made by Saha Airlines in Iran in 2013. John Travolta owns the only remaining 707 flying in the US (and it’s gorgeous; also, note the registration), and I believe there are a handful still flying in Africa.

Interesting story. Do you know anything about the agreement that prevented German pilots from flying over West Berlin?

Not a ton of details, but the post-WWII arangement allowed only American, British, and French planes and pilots access to West Berlin, to reach their quarters of the occupied city, and that continued even once West Berlin was reunified under West German control. It is why Air Berlin exists, it was founded in the US, and used US pilots to service routes into Berlin (it was bought out by a German company following the reunification of East and West Germany).
